Empty the entire bag into a mixing bowl
Add 1 cup of tap water (may substitute with veggie broth; may need to adjust measurement)
If desired, add 3 tablespoons of heart-healthy oil to help form and cook
Vigorously mix together with fork, hands, or whisk to blend well
Rest 3-5 minutes
The mixture should be formable something similar to playdough
On medium heat, use a non-stick skillet or pan and coat with heart-healthy oil
With damp hands, shape and pre-cook approximately 5-7 minutes - Shape into patties, cutlets, strips, or desired shape - season as desired.
Cool and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. Can be frozen.
When mealtime comes reheat as desired. To create "shredded" meat, tear into bite-sized pieces and reheat in a lightly oiled pan.
For a chewier texture, prepare ahead and reheat
